Shoe4Child.org is a non-profit organization that partners with communities to start up initiatives that promote education and entrepreneurship. Shoe4Child.org believes in communities that are active participants in their own development.
Shoe4Child.org is an initiative of Tariku Bogale. Walking barefoot to Masakhane primary school in Johannesburg used to be the norm for many pupils which reminded Bogale of his childhood that triggered him to donate shoes and school uniforms and followed up with the donation of a building to the school.
This prompted the launch in 2012 of Shoe4Child.org, which he hopes to make a global initiative in support of entrepreneurship and education. I am inspired to change the lives of those who have no hope
There are many successful people around the globe and if each one extended a helping hand to their community, the impact on would be enormous.
However, he cautions community members to value and look after the assets they are given, remembering that the year before he launched Shoe4Child.org, he had donated computers to Masakhane Primary School, only to learn that they had been stolen a short while later..
